As the executive champion of Health Care and Life Sciences at SAS, Gail Stephens helps customers harness data’s hidden intelligence to make the world a better place. Stephens leads HLS teams across R&D, product management, industry consulting, and philanthropy, focusing on data-driven initiatives and delivering insights to transform organizations. One of Stephens’ primary initiatives is Project Data Sphere, a first-of-its-kind oncology data sharing platform to improve outcomes for cancer patients. The project integrates SAS machine learning, AI and business intelligence solutions to advance treatment research. In addition, she has served on the executive board of North Carolina Healthcare Information and Communications Alliance as well as the on the Scientific & Strategic Advisory Council of the International COVID-19 Data Alliance.
